John joined PYD in the fall of 2023 as the Director of Operations. He is a lifelong educator of 34 years, starting his career as a special education teacher in a residential school and then in the Boston Public Schools. He moved into administration while at Boston Public Schools, serving as a Special Education administrator and assistant principal at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Dorchester.
After a period of time in Boston, John moved to the Milton Public Schools to continue as the assistant principal and then Principal of the Pierce Middle School. John moved to the position of Assistant Superintendent for the MIlton Public Schools in July of 2008. After six years in that role, John served as Superintendent of Schools for the Town of Belmont, Massachusetts. John served nine years as Superintendent of Schools in Belmont and retired in the fall of 2023.
John has also worked with educators in the classroom as an adjunct professor at University of Massachusetts, Boston and currently works as an executive coach for the Massachusetts Association of Superintendents.
