Join P.Y.D. at the 2013 Boston Abilities Expo

Abilities Expo Boston 2013If you live in the greater Boston area and have a disability, you should mark your calendar for the weekend of September 20th to 22nd. On that weekend, the Abilities Expo will be at the Boston Convention Center in South Boston, and it promises to be an event you don’t want to miss.

If you’re not familiar with it, the Abilities Expo is a traveling exposition that, in their own words, “…[is] dedicated to educating and improving the lives of Americans with disabilities, senior citizens, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals and professional therapists.” Local organizations will be there to highlight their services and products, and there will be numerous events and activities catering to people with all different types of disabilities.

In short, the Abilities Expo is a giant, free, resource-and-workshop-full festival for people with disabilities. And did we mention it’s free?

The Boston Abilities Expo will feature workshops on such diverse topics as wheelchair dancing, social media, service monkeys, accessible homes, accessible vehicles, and more. There are also going to be 140+ exhibitors and local organizations there to showcase their programs and offerings. There are also going to be number of activities to take part in, so it promises to be an engaging event.

Partners for Youth with Disabilities will be tabling at the Abilities Expo for all three days, so if you come, please drop by our table and say hello! We’ll be located at stall #720, so don’t be a stranger!
