PYD’s career readiness curriculum was developed by our YEP program, which has been run in Boston-area classrooms for the past 20 years. This curriculum includes 39 lessons (about 1 hour each), with a student workbook and teacher’s guide for each lesson.
The curriculum is based upon the principles of Universal Design for Learning, which includes flexible goals, methods, materials, assessments, and accommodations for learning differences, allowing for the curriculum to be used in both inclusive and substantially separate special education classrooms.
Because of inclusive nature of the program and curriculum, over the years YEP has served students with a wide range of disabilities including learning, intellectual, social emotional, physical, and sensory disabilities. The curriculum was reviewed and edited by an Boston area educator with a PhD. from Boston College in Curriculum and Instruction (specialization in UDL).
