Everyone learns differently, which can make it challenging to bring out the best in every student. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that guides the development of flexible learning environments that can accommodate individual learning differences.
The UDL framework combines advances in learning sciences with recent advances in learning technologies, in order to improve learning by providing options that meet the challenge of diversity and improve experiences for marginalized learners.
The learning objectives for this interactive training include: increased understanding of the scientific research behind UDL, proficiency in the key tenets and principles of UDL, increased understanding of how UDL concepts address the needs of youth with hidden disabilities, increased understanding of how to utilize UDL concepts in curriculum and program design, and increased awareness of best practices in applying UDL.
