Sign up for the 2013 Youth Leadership Forum

Massachusetts Youth Leadership ForumThere is only one week left to sign up for the 2013 Massachusetts Youth Leadership Forum (YLF)! YLF is an incredible leadership opportunity for selected youth with disabilities to attend an overnight conference at Bridgewater State from July 16th-18th. YLF participants are selected through a statewide competitive process that seeks youth with disabilities with leadership potential and a concern for their community. Selected YLF participants will represent a diverse pool in terms of geography, gender, economic status, ethnicity and different types of disabilities.

There are two types of applications for the YLF: Delegates and Peer Leaders.

You should apply to be a YLF Delegate if you are a high school student in your last two years of high school (including the class of 2013) with a disability. Throughout the forum, delegates will develop self-advocacy and leadership skills, begin to plan career goals, and build a network of supports & friends.

You should apply to be a YLF Peer Leader if you are a young adults (under the age of 25) who has finished high school for at least one year, and are currently working or in college. Peer leaders will arrive a day early on the 15th, and complete an additional training to prepare them for their role of helping to plan activities and mentor delegates throughout YLF. Peer leaders will receive a small stipend for their work.

In order to apply, all applicants must submit an application, a recommendation, and participate in an interview to be considered. If you are interested in this phenomenal opportunity, complete and submit the following document: Youth Leadership Forum 2013 Application.
