What people are saying about Partners Online

"I feel like it has given me a chance to reach out to people that I normally wouldn't have been able to. I have chatted with people of all ages about all different subjects and bridged gaps and online it doesn't matter. You are able to find common ground where in the real everyday life beyond the internet it might not seem cool. I love it... I believe we have a voice because of POL and we can all gain so much from one another." -Partners Online participant

"Partners Online is a part of my life... it's like an organ that beats life into me, like my heart or lungs. It's a lifeline which outreaches me to the others which are my bretheren. I've met amazing people... all whom are amazing role models, and are trailblazers to a brighter future." -Partners Online Mentee

"The new Partners Online program will let me communicate better with my mentor. Due to our busy schedules playing phone tag just doesn't do it for us. By using Partners Online, we'll be able to communicate whenever we want too." -Partners Online Mentee

Mentors are saying:

  • At times it's easier for me to communicate with my mentee. It's easier to see one another in person because we are both hard of hearing, but with the winter and some health problems I can't always get out. So the on-line programs allows us to stay in touch and have contact much more frequently - sometimes every day!

  • I love POL, it has made a huge difference in my life. I am able to keep contact with people I could only see once or twice a year.

  • I think it's good because it allows me to write things that may not be easy to express in person. It would be so much harder to express one by one. It's someone else's choice as to whether or not they want to look at a particular subject. 500 people looked at my posting on my accident.

Parent Quote:

"He considers this program like his telephone. He is non-verbal and uses a footswitch to use the computer, and he feels that this is so important to him. POL is his homepage and it is the first thing he does when he wakes up."
