Foster a Partnership
Don't have the time to volunteer? The Foster a Partnership program may be just for you!
The Foster a Partnership program is for individuals who do not have the time to become a volunteer but may have financial resources to support a match. This is an opportunity to contribute to the lives of children through financial support, even when you don't have the time. The average cost in 'fostering a partnership' is approximately $2,000 for one year. Your contribution will be used by Partners for Youth with Disabilities to:
- Create and fund a match
- Recruit volunteers
- Screen and match volunteers with their 'partners'
- Provide professional training and support in adolescent development, communication, and cultural and ethical awareness.
Partners for Youth with Disabilities matches youth with disabilities with adult volunteers with similar disabilities in a one-to-one mentoring relationship that can last a lifetime. We invite you to become one of the many that helps change the world each day. To give a gift of $2,000 to foster a partnership, please send checks made out to Partners for Youth with Disabilities to:

Matching Gifts
Want to get your company involved in making a difference in your community? Many corporations match gifts to charitable institutions made by employees. Some will match the gifts of employee spouses and retired employees as well. To find out if your company has a matching gifts program, please contact your personnel office for more information. If your company matches gifts, simply include the proper forms with your donation. We'll take care of the rest.
Memorial Gifts & Honor Gifts
Giving a gift in memory of or in honor of someone serves
a two-fold purpose. Not only do you commemorate and honor someone
but you also help contribute to changing a child's life for the better.
All memorial and honor gifts will be acknowledged through a personal
note sent by Partners for Youth with Disabilities to the honored person(s)
and a copy will be sent to you. If you would like to make
a tax-deductible contribution in memory of, in tribute or in honor
of someone, or to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or wedding,
please contact Christopher Carpenter at 617-556-4075, x12 (TTY: 617-314-2989) or via email at ccarpenter@pyd.org.
Stocks/Securities
No matter what tax bracket you are in, making gifts of appreciated stock makes sense. Tax benefits for a donor who has owned appreciated stocks for more than one year are two-fold: capital gains tax is avoided upon transfer to PYD and the donor can receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Depending on your tax bracket and the size of the gift, there may be an opportunity to carry the charitable income tax deduction over several years. To establish a plan contact Christopher Carpenter at 617-556-4075, x12 (TTY: 617-314-2989) or via email at ccarpenter@pyd.org.
Bequests and Other Gifts From Your Estate
You can make a lasting - and often dramatic - contribution to Partners for Youth with Disabilities through your will or other estate gifts. Some gifts can even provide you with income during your life.
Tax Planning Tip - When appreciated securities are donated, you are entitled to a deduction for full value, not just the original cost.
If you would like more information about bequests and planned giving or the benefits of leaving a legacy to Partners for Youth with Disabilities, we are happy to provide you with individualized information about supporting PYD in this way. For more information, please contact Christopher Carpenter at 617-556-4075x12 (TTY: 617-314-2989) or via email at ccarpenter@pyd.org.
Corporate and Foundation Support
Partners for Youth with Disabilities is proud of the support it receives from its corporate and foundation partners. These partners lend their support by sponsoring events, making grants to support our operations and donating valuable in-kind contributions.
Donations of Products or Services
The donation of products and services is very welcome at
PYD Whether donating items for our silent auction, volunteer hours,
computers or software, your support makes a big difference. If you
would like to donate to PYD, please contact Christopher Carpenter at 617-556-4075 x 12 or ccarpenter@pyd.org.
It's tax deductible!
Partners for Youth with Disabilities is a nonprofit corporation, which is classified by the IRS as exempt under the IRS Section 501(c)(3). Therefore, donations from individuals and corporations, as well as grants from private foundations, qualify for maximum tax benefits allowable by the IRS. Partners for Youth with Disabilities will send you a letter acknowledging your donation. Use this letter as supporting documentation for your IRS deduction, since the 'fair market value' of your donation may be tax deductible.
